About the Young Driver Scheme

The scheme has been running since 2005 to enable young people to develop car handling skills in an "off road" location prior to going onto the public Highway and over 4,900 have attended so far. They will get almost one hour of professional tuition from a DSA Approved Driving Instructor (an ADI) in Dual Controlled cars provided by the Driving Schools. The driving takes place on private roads at Earls Colne Business Park, with the first lessons starting at 10.30am and the last ones at 2.45 pm.

Booking in, is through the door to the left of the Main Golf club entrance.

The initial fee of £55 covers registration and the first 50 minute lesson and subsequent lessons cost £45 each. To guarantee a place for the next month you need to pay by cheque or cash when you book in for your lesson, a place cannot be secured without payment. It is essential that cancellations be advised in plenty of time, since it may be possible to fill places, but please note that payment will be forfeited in the event of a cancellation if less than seven days notice (previous Sunday) is given.

The scheme is operated all year on the third Sunday of the month. See calendar for detailed dates.
